Gate Checking Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller
Practice you desire the stroller at your destination or do y'all just want it as a wheelbarrow for the airport?
I just want it at the destination. Thank you!
If you want the stroller at your destination and it folds, bring it with y'all. Southwest doesn't have a weight limit on gate-checked strollers.
We did a few times, domestically and internationally. We have the bag from baby jogger and I'm not certain how else we would have washed it. The two seats stack on each other, then on meridian of the frame. Never had a problem although I think it is more fragile than other strollers and could get easily beat upward.
We accept single, not double, but I second the recco of the Baby Jogger travel purse. We usually put information technology in the bag correct before going downwards the jetway. It tin can be very hot or cold in at that place!
Hi, we have the City Select equally a Single for now and have traveled with information technology by air. We bought the travel bag made for information technology and after just 1 trip, the handbag ripped near the seams and even with everything broken downwardly in the purse, the frame got pretty scratched up. We had gate checked information technology. I was then mad. Nosotros bought the stroller in Sep 2012 correct afterwards Labor Solar day and I flew with it a week later. So y'all tin imagine how upset I was to have my brand new stroller beat upwards and scratched. Infant Jogger customer service did nothing to assistance and said the travel bag wasn't meant for Air Travel. Become figure. So then nosotros had to travel again in Nov 2012 and this time we duct taped the hell out of the bag. We did three layers at all the seams and wrote Fragile all over it. Luckily by doing this it did help protect the bag and stroller a little meliorate. More rips occurred, but at least they went through the first layer of duct tape. The next time I had to travel alone and didn't want to deal with breaking the stroller down by myself with my LO (was 11 months at the time) running around. So I was able to suspension information technology completely downward and packed it in our largest suitcase and checked it similar baggage. I flew SW and then had the two free numberless and had no issues with scratches or anything. I recommend this pick. I even tested information technology recently with using both seats and was able to fit everything in. Our 2d baby is due in a couple months. Maybe that could exist an selection for y'all guys? Also subsequently reading lots of reviews subsequently the fact, other folks have bought the Stokke Pram travel purse or Bugaboo travel handbag for use with the City Select and did gate check with no issues at all. The stroller too didn't have to be cleaved down besides far. Those bags are pricier though. I hope this helps!
I signed upwardly just to hold that the city select travel bag is pretty bad, you take to have the wheels off the city select, shorten the handle length, and put the sunshade on the lower setting, and take the pegs off for the 2nd seat. and after all that you have to force the zipper shut. We gate checked it on an international flight since we live abroad and the pocketbook held upwardly sort of, information technology well-nigh ripped in i spot. the stroller is really heavy and if I didn't have my husband with me it would've taken forever to get the stroller and two babies down to the plane. Afterwards that experience I looked for alternatives and I found the stokke universal prampack, and it is huge, information technology'southward so awesome. I can leave the wheels on and the handle at the longer length, you lot can leave the second seat pegs on but as they stick outward I become scared that when other luggage is put on superlative of the stroller it might mess upwardly the pegs. The stroller gets strapped to the purse then a padded embrace gets pulled over it and snapped in place. The best function of this handbag is that it has wheels! It makes bringing the stroller to the plane and so much easier.
Does anyone know if the regular bugaboo travel bag will hold the city select with 2 seats or just the bugaboo condolement bag?
Non familiar with the Bugaboo purse only we used this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000262HMQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1394071857&sr=viii-3
Popped of seats and dorsum wheels at the gate, put information technology in this purse, and we were good to go. We could take left the wheels on simply thought they might be more prone to damage than if tucked away. Information technology is heavy to carry but DH used the shoulder strap and carried it downwards the jetway with a infant in the other hand. :)
I'd say there are no guarantees that a stronger pocketbook will agree the stroller together. I've seen some seriously beat up gate chcked things. Nosotros bought a maclaren double stroller off craigslist which folds down very small then I wouldn't cry later on our more expensive one. And they lost it! We really needed information technology for the connection to lug the carseats only had no stroller. If we hadn't packed two baby carriers, information technology would've been a worse nightmare. 2 kids, 2 car seats, two carry ons and no stroller. Anyhow. If you travel frequently, a used stroller which folds down more compact might be a better option.
